Neural Expedition is a free newsletter and an archive of field reports on open-source image, audio, vision and 3D models, tested before they are written up.

Each model is installed and run before it gets a report. Every field report carries the setup notes, honest caveats and a license check, so you can decide whether a model is worth your time before you commit to it.

Two field reports go out every Monday and Thursday. 130 issues have been published so far, all of them in the archive.

    Screen

    New open-source releases are screened before anything is written. Some candidates are rejected and never written up.

    Install and run

    Every approved model is installed and run before it gets a report. Nothing is written up from a model card alone.

    Write it up

    Each field report carries the setup notes, honest caveats and a license check, so you know what you're committing to.

  4. 04

    Publish

    Two field reports every Monday and Thursday, free. Every one stays searchable in the archive.
